“Dark Patterns explores the impact of power through the lens of the technology – the interaction between those who have and those who have not. We wanted to express this imbalance musically by creating a sense of anxious energy using fuzzed guitars, driving drums and crunchy bass. Vocally, the husky vocals in verse 1 and 2 represent the creator with lyrics such as ‘Do you seek the lie? What to reveal this time?’ presenting the concept of subtle manipulation and an ode to the technique of Dark Patterns. In contrast, the second louder vocal in the bridge section carries the perspective of the user – one of redemption and of breaking free from the mould” – Rhys
What a strong debut album packed with a bunch of great songs. Highly recommend to everyone who likes the modern take on this kind of late 60s psych-rock. Papa Jay (Radio Smorgasbord)
Another solid gold release on Wrong Speed Records, worth the admission price for the opening track alone - but the sprawling following tracks are a heady delight. Skuzz, tone, pace, repetition, noise, all in the right and wrong places at the same time. Absolutely love it, will be right up there on best of the year lists bandtramp
